FAQ

What is Bancarera?
Bancarera, or bangkarera, combines bangka (the Filipino outrigger boat) and karera (race). It's a traditional motorboat racing sport in the Philippines. Bancarera Philippines helps organize races all over the country.

Why did Tropical Futures make this?
The project goes back to around 2018/2019, when Chris, our founder, first came across a video of bangka races while digging through Facebook, alongside his research into budots and Philippine subculture.

Is this official Bancarera Philippines merch?
No. It's an independent fan tee from Tropical Futures, made as a companion to our Bancarera zine. We're not affiliated with Bancarera Philippines.
